The 1935 edition of the MUTCD was published by the American Association of State Highway Officials (AASHO), the Institute of Traffic Engineers (ITE), and the National Conference on Street and Highway Safety (NCSHS). This was the original "unified" version of the national MUTCD, and served as the official edition in the United States until the publication of the 1942 War Emergency Edition.
