The Michigan Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MMUTCD) is a document defining the design of standard traffic signs in the state of Michigan for use on state highways and other roads open to public travel in the state. It is published and maintained by the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT).

History

2011 Revised September 2013 (Current)

On December 1, 2011, Michigan adopted this manual to address unique State Laws and policies.


Notable Differences from National MUTCD

  • Chapter 2B. Regulatory Signs, Barricades, and Gates
    • "YIELD or STOP signs should not be used for speed control." is upgraded to a STANDARD.
  • Chapter 6E Flagger Traffic Regulator Control
    • "Flagger" has been replaced with "Traffic Regulator"
